A Journey is a long terrazzo floor where branches and roots flow across a calm blue surface, dotted with bright pink flowers, green buds, and golden leaves. It invites children to follow the curves of the branches or pause within a flower, while others may simply stroll or roll along, enjoying a peaceful, river-like path. The blue evokes the sea nearby — its clear Gulf Stream waters — and symbolizes tranquility and wisdom passed through generations. The roots and branches represent the blending of cultures that shape South Florida: Latin American, Caribbean, and Native American heritages intertwined. This mosaic celebrates the diversity of our region — a reflection of the world’s rich mix of stories, connections, and shared humanity.
